"IWATA PROJECT", launched in 2011, is an activity that started in collaboration with Mr. Minoru Iwata, a former professional baseball player who battled Type 1 diabetes during his career. This activity aims to encourage children with diabetes to have dreams and hopes. Even after Mr. Iwata's retirement, we continue the activity to convey the message "Try hard and your dreams will come true." through interactions with other people with Type 1 diabetes.
On June 16, 2024, we held the "IWATA PROJECT SPORT FESTIVAL" and interacted with children with Type 1 diabetes through sports.
We rented out the memorial hall in Educational Research Institute at Nippon Sport Science University's Tokyo Setagaya campus for the event, and a total of 94 people, including children and their parents, deepened their interactions with Mr. Iwata.
After the event, many children played together while their parents engaged in lively conversation.
ARKRAY believes that awareness-raising activities should not only provide information in a one -direction manner but should instead provide opportunities for "horizontal connections" which lead to two-way communication.
Through such activities, we will continue conveying the message "Try hard and your dreams will come true." by providing opportunities for people with Type 1 diabetes to interact with each other. We will also engage in awareness-raising activities for Type 1 diabetes by continuing to provide information.
